Boards on this device

You can use Theory Board without an account. Local boards and recovery drafts are stored in this browser on this device. Clearing site data can remove them. Download an editable backup from the board tools to keep a separate copy.

Cloud accounts

When cloud accounts are enabled, boards you save to the cloud are stored with your account. Signing in does not automatically upload existing local boards. Private boards are for your account; public boards can be opened by anyone with the link.

Private collaboration

When enabled, an owner can invite viewers or editors to a cloud board without publishing it. Accepted members can see the current notes, photos, member names and profile pictures, and recent activity. My cards and earlier cloud versions stay private to their account owner. Editors' new images are saved with the board under its owner's storage allowance. Removing a member or leaving stops new authorized access, but cannot recall device drafts, downloaded copies, or previously issued image links before they expire.

Blocking ends shared board interactions and prevents new invitations between the blocked accounts. Manage your block list under Account & privacy. Reports are private to the service team and can include the board, reported account, reason and details you supply. Saved cloud versions

When version recovery is enabled, content saves keep earlier cloud copies for your account only. Making a board public does not publish its history. Older versions expire within your recovery allowance; deleting the cloud board removes its history. Recovery opens a separate private device copy, which you can save to the cloud. Keep downloaded backups for long-term protection.

My cards

Reusable cards saved to This device stay in this browser. Cloud library copies are private to your account. Reusing a card creates a separate copy, including its image. Removing it from My cards does not remove copies already added to boards. A copy added to a public board is visible with that board.

Account deletion

Request deletion from Your profile when enabled, or use the Delete account link below for support. Accepted requests disable cloud changes and public sharing while background removal runs. Deletion removes your account, profile, cloud boards, cloud My cards, versions, and uploaded photos. Local copies, downloaded backups, and other users' independent remixes remain separate. Older shared-photo dependencies may require a support review before removal. Infrastructure backups and logs may have separate retention periods; contact info@thepoleshift.com with questions.

Public sharing

A shared board can show its title, cards, images, connection labels, timestamps, and your display name or bio. Account email addresses are not intentionally displayed on public boards. Keep private contact details out of your public profile and cards.
